UK Colemak
American Colemak varients are available for download if not already included in your OS, but regional variations are much thinner on the ground than personally customised versions. So let's contribute to that trend!
"Standard" UK Colemak
Variants
ColemakQ modifies Colemak with
- Backspace in the standard Qwerty position (not left of “A”) – for those who already have control in this spot
- US (or UK Mac) locations of @ and “ (recognising ” is much more common)
- Swap ( and ) with < and > – unless you're a programmer then wtf are triangular brackets doing there?
- An em-dash on shifted ` – when was the last time you used one of the more obscure of several mathematical symbols for “not”? And an en-dash on
Altgr `. - All other symbols in their UK locations, including € on alt-gr 4
Works on Windows 7 and 10 (at least).
TODO:
- There is a desperate need to get the interrobang onto the next iteration of this keyboard.
Altgr /? - Possibly switch ` and —.
- Sneak in a deadkey somewhere?
- § on alt-s?
